Bluetooth® Hands-Free Calling, Hands-On Driving.

Bluetooth Hands-free Calling is a feature of the BMW Assist system which enables your phone handset to function wirelessly by using the hardware in your BMW. Some of the features included with the system are speech recognition, dialing by name or number, steering wheel controls and access to your phone book. In order to help you focus safety on the road, this hands-fee calling feature allows you to answer and make calls, access your phonebook and interact with others using a safe and convenient wireless connection and your vehicle’s audio system and easy to use interfaces. To ensure optimal compatibility with your vehicle, BMW recommends using your choice of BMW tested handsets with your vehicle.

SIRIUS-Amplify Your Drive.

Make the Ultimate Driving Experience just that much richer with 120 channels of SIRIUS’s exclusive audio entertainment, including commercial-free music and unique Canadian content. SIRIUS and BMW provide a simple, intuitive interface which works seamlessly through your vehicle’s radio, allowing you to easily preset your favorite channels to experience the songs and content you love on the open road.

SIRIUS radio is a fee-based subscription radio service that networks three satellites to broadcast over 100 premium channels to its nationwide subscribers. Select exclusive music, sports, news, talk, and comedy channels wherever you drive. SIRIUS’s coast-to coast coverage provides digital quality audio across Canada or while traveling in the United States.

Whether ordered as an accessory or from the factory, your BMW comes with a 12 month free subscription.

USB-Connecting you to your music as well as the road.

Enjoy all of the features your vehicle has to offer to the fullest. Your BMW offers you the ability to connect your iPod or MP3 device via USB port. USB memory sticks with stored music can also be connected to this port. As such, you can enjoy the Ultimate Driving Experience all the while listening to your very own music library. Depending on the device and vehicle combination, this USB connection allows you to scroll through your music using the arrow keys on the steering wheel, and displays song type, artist and genre on your vehicle’s display. For optimal integration with your vehicle, BMW recommends that your iPod device be connected using a special BMW Y-cable. The Y-cable also serves as an in-car charger for your iPod device.

More recently, BMW has added an additional USB port in the glovebox. Vehicle’s with these ports can download selected music formats to their vehicles on-board hard disk drive to be permanently stored and played back from the vehicle.
